Observe your breathing for a moment. Does it feel relaxed?

Take some time to take a deep breath

This might sound a little silly at first, but just consider this: It doesnt cost anything but 5 minutes and has a mayor effect on your mood, freshness of mind and even immunesystem.
Ready for some fresh air?

How relaxed breathing helps

Stress makes us breath shallow, which means stale air is going back and forth in our resoiratory system, with hardly and fresh air mixing in. Breathing in an optimal way stimulates the vagus nerve, the largest nerve of the so-called parasympathetic nervous system. This system regulates almost all our internal organs. It also releases neurotransmitters, so-called acetylcholines, which help us concentrate or relax and increase our creativity.

So frist: Open up your windows to let some fresh air in. Lay one hand on your belly, and the other one on your chest. Breathe in slowly through your nose, letting the air in deeply, towards your lower belly. The hand on your chest should remain still, while the one on your belly should rise. Tighten your abdominal muscles and let them fall inward as you exhale through pursed lips. Do this for 5 minutes.

Repeat whenever you notice you need some inspiration and concentration!
